SULEE STINSON CLAY
Chair of the Corporate Group and Managing Partner of McKennon Shelton & Henn’s Washington, DC office, Ms. Clay is a business attorney with over 20 years of experience. She advises companies, investors, institutional lenders, sponsors, and entrepreneurs in the areas of corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, commercial transactions, secured and unsecured debt financings, and mergers and acquisitions, among others.
She has special expertise with the laws and regulations regarding the cannabis industry.
Ms. Clay began her legal career in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis and later joined the Washington, DC office of global law firm DLA Piper US. There she was a partner in the Corporate Finance and Private Equity departments and served on the firm’s Policy Committee.
Ms. Clay is a member of the District of Columbia and New York bars. She earned degrees at Harvard College (magna cum laude) and Harvard Law School.
DR. PATRICIA FRYE, MD
A leading medical cannabis expert, Dr. Frye is founder and medical director of Takoma-SE Integrative Care in Washington, DC. Her integrative practice focuses on the use of cannabis, cannabinoids, nutrition, and lifestyle choices in the medical management of chronic conditions such as pain, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, autism, seizure disorders, and psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Frye is an affiliate associate professor in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy where her book, The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health, is an official reference resource. She serves on the board of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians where she chairs the Committee on Education and is course director of the newly updated curriculum designed to educate healthcare professionals and ancillary personnel on the benefits and use of cannabis. She is also co-chair of the Maryland Medical Society’s Medical Cannabis Task Force and serves on the Cannabis Trade Federation’s Task Force on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Dr. Frye earned her medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She trained in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and is certified in Cannabis Science and Medicine by the University of Vermont School of Medicine. She is licensed to practice medicine in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
